What will I do at Camp?

You will swim in the clear, cold waters of Lake Tahoe and warm yourself on the beach while making new friends. The staff and your counselors will lead you in some cool games, and the arts and crafts such as pottery-making and native art projects, will fill your days. You will be a part of the daily worship service in the Outdoor Chapel and the talks and discussions led by clergy and the staff. Campfires are a special way of ending a full and happy day.

What special activites are unique to Camp Noel Porter?

*Secret Friends At Sunday's check-in, everyone picks a name of another person at camp. That person is your secret friend. During the week, we'll make special things for our secret friend and we'll be kind and cool to them. But, it's a secret--they won't know who is their secret friend until Friday when we reveal who our secret friend is!

*The Crazy Olympics The Crazy Olympics are on every Wednesday night. The theme will be announced at dinner and everyone can dress up in wacky outfits to play games with their teams. If you have any crazy/fun clothes that you want to bring, feel free to do so, but remember that a creative combination of "normal" clothes can be wacky and fun.

*The Challenge The Challenge is the event on Friday afternoon; teams will work together in completing an obstacle course as well as other events. The Challenge always ends in a tug-of-rope over our mud pit. Be sure to bring clothes and shoes you don't mind getting muddy!!

*Dances and the Carnival Junior High weeks will have a dance on Friday evening. Junior weeks end with a fun carnival, and junior/junior high age groups can look forward to half carnival, half dance on Friday evenings.
